Each family wants her child to be healthy. Very often, future parents carefully prepare for replenishment, undergo a preliminary medical examination, pass various tests, adjust their lifestyle, making it healthier, treat existing diseases that can affect the health of the future baby.
However, there is one underwater stone on which future parents are not able to influence. And it consists in the possibility of the emergence of a Rh conflict between the future mother and the baby, which is able to lead even to the death of the future baby with the most unfavorable development of events. This situation is possible if future parents have different Rh factors of blood (the future mother has negative, and the future father has positive). In this case, it becomes possible that the fetal red blood cells will be perceived by the mother’s immune system as alien and destroyed by her. The liver and spleen of the fetus will try to develop new ones, but at a certain moment a situation may come when they can’t cope, and the fetus will have oxygen starvation, which will cause a series of new unpleasant consequences.
In a medical institution that conducts pregnancy with Rh conflict, they are required to do a blood test and install the Rh factor of the future mother and, if it turns out to be negative, then check the Rh factor of the future father. If it turns out to be positive, then in the future mother it is necessary to periodically take a blood test for the presence of antibodies to the red blood cells of the fetus. If such bodies are detected, the amount of them is growing, then the future mother needs hospitalization in a specialized medical institution in which she will be under the constant observation of qualified doctors.
After the baby is born, he is exploring the Rh factor, and if he is positive, his mother is introduced by a special antiresus serum, which reduces the risk of conflict in the future.
It is worth noting that the risk of the development of Rh conflict is quite small (about 15 %) and largely depends on whether the first birth is the first birth or not (if the pregnancy is not the first, then antibodies are produced faster). So if a negative Rhesus factor was found in the future mother when leaving a blood test, and the future father is positive, then this is not a reason to refuse the birth of a child. With the exact implementation of the recommendations of the observant doctor and timely passing the necessary tests, you have every chance of becoming happy parents of a healthy baby.
