Mallorca is a very popular tourist region. Despite the abundance of foreigners visiting it and the bustle inherent in large resorts, the island manages to preserve its unique cultural atmosphere.
Its main symbol for many years has been the mills, there are about two thousand of them on the island. Among the mills, there are both flour mills and those intended for water extraction, about 300 mills have been completely restored and continue to operate.
The island is also rich in interesting national holidays, which take place here literally every month. An interesting celebration is the Sant Pere festival, which is dedicated to the patron saint of fishermen. Fishing remains one of the main industries for local residents, several centuries ago, seafood was the only way for locals to ensure a decent living. Since then, in every town on the island, it has become customary to honor the patron saint of fishermen, organize ceremonial parades and colorful performances in his honor.
